WHY I SERVE
"I feel exceptionally lucky to be raising my family in such a deep-rooted, creatively vibrant community. In my service on Town Council, I’m committed to making sure as many people and families as possible can share in that community. I hope to bring a wide range of our neighbors’ voices into town decision making and to work together to build a town that truly reflects our shared values."
Danny Nowell is the Town Council’s liaison to the Planning Board, the Arts Committee, and the Recreation and Parks Commission. Prior to being elected to the Town Council, Danny led a number of fundraising campaigns for mutual aid and racial equity in the Carrboro community. Outside of his work on Town Council, Danny is a freelance copywriter, fiction writer, and musician. Both graduates of UNC-Chapel Hill, Danny and his wife Sallie have lived in Carrboro since 2016, where they’re now raising their two kids.
